Gerry has specific expertise in corporate transactions and taxation. His practice focuses on infrastructure acquisitions and divestments.
Gerry undertakes a broad range of merger and acquisition transactions, joint ventures, major projects and electricity and gas contracts. He advises on a range of issues including structuring transactions and acquisitions, due diligence, drafting and negotiating agreements, compliance with Corporations Act requirements and liaising with regulatory bodies. His clients range from utilities in the energy industry and telecoms to financial services entities and investors in infrastructure.
Gerry has undertaken and performed key roles in a number of large and complex transactions. This includes preparation of project plans, undertaking and supervising of due diligence investigations and reporting and the management of legal project teams.
Gerry also has significant expertise in taxation including income tax/CGT, GST, FBT, and stamp duty. He has managed tax audits, obtained rulings, undertaken tax litigation and negotiation of settlements with the Australian Taxation Office.
