Greenhouse gas and energy reporting obligations and the Garnaut Review Draft Report

Australia's Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) or as it has recently been referred to in the media the 'carbon pollution reduction (CPR) scheme' continues to gather pace with the expected release today of the Federal Government's ETS Green Paper. In this Update we look at the key events occurring this month in the formation of the ETS including the important milestone in the greenhouse gas and energy reporting obligations coming into effect on 1 July.

We also look at the Garnaut Review Draft Report, released earlier this month, which
starts to lay the more detailed foundations of Australia’s policy response to climate change
including the scope and likely working of the proposed ETS and investments required in low
emission technology.
